ADRIANA DÍAZ

Adriana Díaz is a Bay Area native with a long exhibition history. Among her exhibition venues: Mission Cultural Center, the Mechanic’s Institute, SOMAR Arts, Bechtel Center at Stanford University; the Badé Museum, Berkeley, plus university and professional galleries across the Bay Area and abroad. She’s been on the faculty of local colleges and universities including John F. Kennedy University, Holy Names University, and New College of San Francisco.

Adriana’s paintings are very physical. Surface texture, and the innate markings of the human body come together in what she sees as an abstract expression of the planet. "The discipline of art making," she says, "provides a template for the art of living. Perspective, perseverance, improvisation, and the constant commitment to craft and developing skills all play important roles in both art and life."
